If you have’t seen my previous post on these circuits, start here:
Because we are still in GPP or General Physical Preparation, aerobic development and movement variability are some of our focal points. I want to choose the means and methods that provide the most bang for their buck. If we can improve fitness, get a little strength stimulus, and explore movements that aren’t reached much in-season, that’s a win. Plus, most athletes end up really enjoying these, which often leads to better adherence and outcomes.
Week Two Circuit
• Iso-Hold Split Squat (Start with 10 second hold, then 10 reps)
• Banded Chaos Push-up x 10
• X Band Walk x 15
• Single Arm TRX Row x 8/e
• Hip Airplane x 5/e
• Medball Squat to Press x 15
• Partner Medball Scoop Throw + Catch x 15
• Medball Crunch x 15
This circuit was a little more intense than the previous, so rest interval was extended to closer to 2 min between sets, 10-15 if needed between exercises. Depending on the athlete, 3-5 were performed.
